Meet Henry Winn a famous character during the Victorian period.  He was a chronicler and poet recording daily life in rural Lincolnshire.  See photos of the Winn family and village together with memorabilia related to his life.

Jean is available for historical talks on two of Lincolnshire’s famous men, Sir Joseph Banks and Henry Winn. During the period she was Director of the Lincolnshire Air Ambulance she spent much of her time giving talks on the service and its benefits. Jean travelled across the county to promote and gather support making the charity one of the most popular in Lincolnshire. Jean has a natural talent for guest speaking at events.

Henry Winn was, during the Victorian period, a celebrity in Lincolnshire. The Stamford Mercury penned the headline “Henry Winn the Grand Old Man of Lincolnshire” in an article celebrating his 80th birthday. His poems and essays featured every aspect of life in the county and regularly appeared in newspapers. His knowledge relating to the history of the region was acclaimed across the country and he received many letters requesting information about the county.

Jean will be present on Saturday the 20th of May with some original material, stories and facts on Henry Winn, come and say Hello to Jean at her stand!
