7 Classic Easy Gin Cocktails

A cocktail is an alcoholic drink consisting of one or more spirits mixed with other liquid ingredients such as fruit juice, flavoured syrups, or cream. Gin cocktails became very popular during prohibition times in America. Firstly because gin was the simplest, cheapest, and fastest bootleg liquor to produce, and secondly bootleg liquor was not very palatable so it had to be mixed with flavoured and sweet liquids to make it drinkable and mask the harsh taste.

We have Prohibition and the creative bartenders of that time to thank for these classic gin cocktail recipes. Now we have the added bonus of being able to use wonderful tasting gins like Burrell’s London Dry Gin and Marie Jeanne’s Pink Gin in these classic gin cocktail recipes. Also, many classic gin cocktail recipes can be used to form the base of your own creations.
