Classic Gin Cocktails with a Massingberd-Mundy Twist
In 2020 Tristan worked with mixologist Vanessa Jay to create some cocktails using Burrell’s Dry Gin and Marie Jeanne’s Pink Gin. One of the first cocktails that was created was the Billy Jean Sling to celebrate Wimbledon 2020 which didn’t go ahead that year. It uses Marie Jeanne’s Pink Gin and is inspired by the Strawberries and Cream that are associated with Wimbledon.
Then there was our Lincolnshire Mojito created to help celebrate Lincolnshire Day on the 1st of October. It is also great to drink on 11th July National Mojito Day. In this recipe, Gin is used instead of white rum.
The Burrell’s Bee’s Knees is inspired by the Bee’s Knees a popular cocktail from the prohibition era, when honey and citrus juices were used to make the illegal alcohol and moonshine more palatable and enjoyable to drink. Our version of the Bee’s Knees has the addition of a foam top.
Madame Massingberd Rose Negroni, a Massingberd-Mundy twist on a classic Negroni using our wonderful Marie Jeanne’s Pink Gin.
Pink Lady cocktails have become popular since the explosion of the Pink Gin market, however our The Pink Lady Gin cocktail shakes things up, instead of using Triple Sec we are using Aperol, which beautifully compliments the orange peel and sweeter red berry notes in Marie Jeanne’s pink gin.
A Bramble is a traditional cocktail that has flavours of the hedgerow, by creating Marie Jeanne’s Hot Bramble and serving Marie Jeanne warm allows those red berry notes to speak and naturally with this serve the gin lies at the heart of it. Perfect on a dark autumnal or winter evening.
A Burrell’s Hot Toddy is the perfect drink for a winter evening, whether you are feeling under the weather or are wanting to warm yourself up after being outside for a while.
A pitcher of gin cocktail can be the perfect drink to serve when you have a group of friends around as the cocktail can be put together before your guests arrive. The Burrell’s Breeze works perfectly for a garden party in the summer and if you change the garnish it can work well for both autumn and winter gatherings.
